Special anti-cold chemical protection gloves - Men / Women

As anti-cold gloves are classified among personal protective equipment, they meet to a specific standard: EN 511. Here are the main points required by the standard so that professionals can benefit from the compliance of their gloves against negative temperatures. Note that work gloves must pass three tests to guarantee their resistance to: convective cold strong>, contact cold, waterproof.

          The convective cold test

Anti-cold gloves are tested in convective cold to find out if they have good thermal insulation properties. To know the result, we measure the transfer of cold by convection. This result is between scores 0 to 4, knowing that 4 is the highest protection score.

          The contact cold test

This test corresponds to determining the resistance of the material of the anti-cold gloves when they are in contact with a cold object. Like the previous test, an evaluation of 0 to 4 defines whether the PPE actually has the capacity for contact cold or not.

          The waterproof test

The anti-cold gloves are also tested for their impermeability to water. The process is done in the simplest way: the gloves are exposed to water for five minutes. The rating this time is 0 or 1. If the water does not penetrate the gloves, the test is positive, the result is rated 1 to indicate impermeability. Otherwise, it will be 0.

An EN 511 glove first meets EN 388

A pair of gloves EN 511 answers above all to the EN 388 standard because it concerns anti-cold handling equipment. This means that not only are the gloves resistant to low temperatures and waterproof, but they are also mechanically resistant so that they provide thermal protection against the cold.

Resistance to abrasion and tearing is what the EN 388 standard requires. If the gloves do not meet the respective tests, they do not meet the standard EN 511. It should therefore be noted that anti-cold work gloves are subject to both EN 388 and EN 511.

However, we must not forget that whatever the specificities of the work gloves and whatever the standards to which they are subject, the basic conformity therefore common to all PPE gloves is EN 420.

Different manufacturing materials for thermal gloves to choose from

Every professional has the choice between different anti-cold glove materials. He chooses according to his activity, the nature of the environment in which he exercises his profession, the frequency of use, and possibly his tastes. Here are some models that effectively resist the choice; their materials are different.

          Portwest A 140 anti-cold latex gloves

These are latex coated thermal gloves. They are intended for professionals in various fields such as transport, waste collection, construction, etc. They are made of acrylic providing heat, perfectly suited to outdoor workers and those who remain permanently in cold environments.< /p>

          Portwest fleece gloves

This model is anti-pilling and is made from 100% polyester. A picot finish is found on the wearer's palms and fingers. Weighing 316 grams, these anti-cold gloves are reinforced at the index finger to provide greater grip. They keep you warm and are very protective.

Portwest anti-cold gloves, touch screen compatible

This time in knit, these anti-cold gloves from Portwest have the particularity of adapting to touch screen handling. They ensure good dexterity during significant temperature drops. They are made from 10 gauge acrylic knit. Fitting perfectly to the hands, comfort is guaranteed. On the fingertips, acrylic mixes with metallic components for better heat retention. These gloves are durable.

Anti-cold gloves are essential personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers exposed to harsh winter conditions. Designed to provide optimal thermal protection, these gloves are suitable for a variety of professions, from outdoor workers to winter sports enthusiasts. Some models, such as those from the Singer Safety brand, incorporate quality materials such as leather, wool, and Thinsulate lining to ensure excellent thermal insulation. The coated palm provides a secure grip, reducing the risk of slipping or falling. Some cold-proof gloves come with touchscreen capabilities, allowing users to manipulate electronic devices while wearing them.

The quality and comfort of these gloves are often praised in customer reviews, highlighting their usefulness in environments where extreme temperatures can cause health risks. Anti-cold gloves are ideal for protecting hands from the cold while ensuring freedom of movement, making them suitable for a variety of professional and leisure activities. Double stitching reinforces the durability of the gloves, ensuring a long life of use. The diversity of products available, whether in terms of style, materials or technical specifications, allows users to choose the model that best meets their specific needs. In summary, anti-cold gloves, with their specific design and quality features, are essential PPE to protect hands against harsh winter conditions.
