How to lace rangers?
Rangers are safety shoes that are part of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). They were first initially designed for military use and over time have spread into other activities requiring foot protection like security guards, firefighters, construction work, etc. The rangers have been perfected to suit jobs of all kinds. A real shield for the feet, this type of boot is known for its sturdiness, its waterproofness, its resistance to wear and shocks. Find out here how to properly lace these shoes to increase ease and comfort for the wearer.
All you need to know about lacing rangers
The lacing of the rangers is not the same as for simple tennis and city sneakers. These safety shoes must be closed properly for them to be comfortable, pleasant to wear and so avoid the risk of sprains and fractures.
How to lace up a pair of rangers
There are several techniques for lacing rangers to ensure good ankle support and you will discover them here one by one.
What is the ideal lace length for rangers?
The length of the laces is proportional to the number of eyelets in the boot. The rangers are high shoes so they must have at least 10 eyelets. For a number of 8 to 10 eyelets, plan a length of at least 170 cm and prefer round laces rather than flat models. Flat laces are more suited to the shape of the bottom eyelets.
The commando lacing
Commando lacing is quite similar to cross lacing. It gives a butterfly shape and is quite easy to do. Its advantage is that it confers a comfort bonus. And makes the shoe not too tight, but comfortable to wear during working hours
To do this, start by threading the lace under the first eyelet, then go up a notch without changing sides. Then, from the outside of the shoe, thread the lace up to the second eyelet, then under the eyelet on the opposite side, pull up the notch through the top. Repeat the process until you reach the last eyelets at the top, then turn twice around the mounting loop before inserting the two ends into the Rangers.
Ladder lacing
This lacing technique gives a very aesthetic result, because as its name suggests, the laces form a ladder. It provides good support throughout the boot. However, its realization is more complicated to do and requires a little patience.
First insert the lace under the first bottom eyelet and always thread it from the same side through the top eyelet as for commando lacing. Do the same for the other end of the shoelace. Then take each end and thread it through the eyelet opposite the notch before going through the joint between the first two eyelets. Repeat the process until you reach the last holes at the top and wrap the string around the attachment loop to lock everything in place.
Classic crossover lacing
Probably the most popular technique. This is the method used for lacing classic sneakers.
The lace is inserted from the bottom eyelet. The two ends cross alternately below and then above until they reach the holes at the top. The remaining length of the shoelace is used to form a knot that will seal the shoe. This method of crossing the laces inside allows for quick tightening of your boots.
Customized or adapted lacing
This method consists of jumping on a specific part, one or more crossings so as not to tighten a sensitive area in order to make the shoeflexible and adapt the tightening according to the shape of the feet. It therefore relieves pressure, but requires great attention and patience, as it is more difficult to tighten.
Start inserting the lace horizontally at the lowest loop. Alternate inside and outside crossings moving from hole to hole until both ends are under the sensitive area. Then place the ends on top without crossing them and release the affected area. You can then cross the laces again until you're done.
It is best to place the verticals without crossing inside to increase support even if it is not tight.
How to wash rangers?
rangers are protective gear that are worn throughout services. They are exposed to various soilings. The question that should be asked is rather how to maintain the rangers.
Every time you're done wearing your Rangers, you need to dust them off. For this, take a soft cloth and remove all the dust that has accumulated during its port. If there is mud or dirt, moisten the soft cloth. Use a mild soap and a brush if necessary. This keeps your comfortable boots in good condition.
If your shoes are made of leather, after cleaning them carefully, remember to shine them before putting them away.
