Class 2 or 3 high visibility clothing (EN 20471 standard)

The EN 20471 standard certifies that clothing that complies with this standard can provide a visual indication of your presence in dangerous situations. High visibility jackets are intended for day and night use and must allow the wearer to be seen in all conditions.

Today there are several standards for high visibility clothing. The European standard EN 20471 is the only standard that applies to high visibility signaling clothing for employees. On the other hand, the EN 1150 and EN 13556 standards apply to high visibility clothing for non-professionals.

There are three classes of signalling clothing. The classes differ depending on the surface of the reflective material and the retro-reflective surface of the garment. There is class 3 which has a very high level of visibility. This class includes long-sleeved jackets, parkas, coveralls and jacket and trouser sets. As for class 2, the intermediate level, it includes chasubles, vests, t-shirts, etc. Class 1 has a very low level, where you will usually find outfits such as pants, hats, harnesses and other accessories such as gloves.
