When you are a painter, you often face different kinds of risk, whether you work indoors or outdoors. Whether it is because of the chemicals from the paint, climbing the ladder and the scaffolding, these are situations that risk affecting the health of the worker. This is why wearing PPE and work clothes are important devices in the context of this work. The painter's coverall is a practical alternative to protect yourself almost completely in a single outfit. You can choose between several models according to the needs and the work environment of each one. There are even disposable models, but which still provide optimal protection.

    Characteristics of a painter's coverall

Place in the same way as personal protective equipment such as gloves, helmets or goggles , painter's overalls are an integral part of the accessories that a painter must have. It is a protective garment against the risks of inhalation and projections of drops of paint which may arise from the ceiling or from your work tools. The paint is indeed very aggressive for the skin and can pass into the blood.

According to norm European 89/686/CEE, a painter's coverall must have one of the 3 existing standard categories to be a real protective garment. Category 1 is used for low risk, Category 2 for intermediate risk, and category 3 for serious and irreversible risks such as high-risk chemicals, falls from heights, or musculoskeletal disorders. For the use of spray paints, the standard is much more demanding. Workers are required to wear a disposable coverall with a hood, with a category 3 and type III or IV.

The different kinds of painter's overalls

A suit varies according to the protection category needed. It can be disposable, washable and reusable, printed or single color. Whatever the model, it must protect its user from the lower leg to the neck.

    Disposable paint suit

It is a protective measure used in the field of spraying and painting, field of the pharmaceutical industry and food ,electronics or maintenance. It is used occasionally and should not be reused under any circumstances. Its main role is to protect the painter against chemicals, dirt, microbes and bacteria. Made from synthetic material, it often has zips and elastic on the sleeves and legs to avoid any contact of the products on clothing and skin.

    The washable and reusable coverall

While more expensive than the disposable coverall, the washable coverall is ideal if you have a lot of work in a paint job. As it will be reused, it is important to pay attention to the quality of the model. Choose a model in nylon or polyester, with a strong zipper, which makes it easier for you to put on. It must have elastic on the sleeves, cuffs and waist. Washing is done in the washing machine.

    The collection of painter's overalls

Several models of painter's clothing are on the market, of different models and brands according to the tastes of each, and according to the degree of security required. Whether for men or women, antistatic or dustproof, with or without sleeves, washable or disposable, the choice is yours.

    Painter's white trestle jumpsuit

It is a classic category 1 wetsuit. It is made with a SANFOR treatment which aims to give the fabric used an anti-shrinkage treatment during washing. It has a sturdy zip closure, multiple pockets to put your tools and some work equipment and a reinforced seam. For its manufacture, the material is 100% cotton. It is easy to maintain since it is enough to wash it in the washing machine at a temperature of 90°.

The disposable protective suit for painters

It is ideally designed for painters, but also to accompany DIY enthusiasts or gardeners who wish to protect their clothes against dirt. It has a material 100% Polypropylene, hence its lightness. A hood is added to provide additional protection to workers. It is tight at the ankles, wrists and waist with an elastic band.

Whichever model captures your intention, choose it to suit your size and body type to ensure optimal protection.
