Guide to measuring your male-female measurements

Do you need to measure your measurements to make sure you get the right size for a garment? It may be necessary to take your measurements: waist circumference, hip circumference, chest circumference, arm length, to find the perfect size. Oxwork accompanies you in this article and gives you the key steps to take the measurement of your waist circumference to avoid errors. This guide is useful for both men and women wishing to take the waist measurement.
To measure your waistline, use a tape measure, say dressmaker's tape.

How to take your measurements?

Step 1: Take off or pull up your clothes
Do not take your measurements on loose, thick or even thin clothing. You risk taking your waist measurement incorrectly.

Step 2: Find your waist by locating your upper hip bone
You can find the right spot by placing your hands around your waist, squeezing together slightly, then moving your fingers down until you feel the curve of your upper hips.

Step 3: Stand in a good position to measure your height
Stand up straight with your shoulders relaxed. Don't hold your breath or overbreathe. There is also no need to tuck in or inflate your belly.

Step 4: Take your waist measurement
Place a tape measure around your bare stomach just above the hip bone superior. Start at the top of your hip bone, then bring the tape measure all the way around, at the level of your navel. Make sure it's not too tight and that it's straight. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor. An oblique position can falsely increase your measurement. Also make sure the tape measure is snug to your body, but not so tight that it compresses the skin.

Step 5: Read your waist measurement
The meeting between the end of the tape and the measurement gives you your waist measurement. If you use a string (not stretchable) pinch the intersection and transfer your measurement to a suitable measuring device.

In summary, to take your measurements:

Right on your skin, just above your upper hip.
